ALAS! Shame to Saint Petersburg again!!

Foreign Student transferred by Russian Education Ministry from Volgograd State University to Saint Petersburg State Electro-Technical University (LETI.). He came here and Hostel authority did not accept him as a student though he had all papers and documents. The security guard told that today it is Sunday, we can not do anything. Please come tomorrow on Monday morning. This student completed preparatory course and has no other way to stay. He left the night after long train journey in the hostel corridor. The Next day, Hostel number 8, situated in the Torzaovskaya Ulitsa, Metro ChenayaRechka, Komendant of the hostel and her 2 assistants told him that we have lot of Russian students are giving queue to get a room, why you want to fast and so on...! On Monday he slept in the same corridor and had no bath, food and rest. Tuesday it happened to him the same as 2 days.

After that ISA took him to provide him and put him in the same hostel and hostel authority placed him a room. When they heard about ISA, they worked so fast without any question.

After visiting the hostel, we had seen that there are lot of non students living in that hostel and illegally. This is not an official mail, so we will say the truth. This komendant is very much corrupted and she is giving rooms to non students in her hostel, so she is not interested to give a room to a foreign student.

When we went to the Foreign Dean, LETI, the secretary women, behaved with us as we are DOGS. And she shouted and called the dean of the university's foreign section. He is a gentle man and ordered to the lady to fulfill all duties. He warned to ISA if we go there again, we will have too much unpleasant experience. !! (The secretary of Foreign Dean, LETI!, herself says every 30 minutes that she knows everything and she is working here 39 years. She forgets a lot and can not do her own duty despite of her age!)

We want to protest all these kind of discrimination with students from all around the world. It should not be compared with Russian Students with a foreign student. One Russian student is living in his own country, speaks his native language and he has the capability to pass one night to his relative or friends place, but not a foreign student.

In most hostels, foreign students can not live in a single room. Because they show if a Russian can share why you can not! ? But when the question rises on Payment, we do not have the same right.

One Russian Student can go home for his vacation, but foreigners can not fly home by 500-1000$ for two days. So it is so difficult to stay in a shared room with 3 or 4 students in a same room.

The object to write this mail is to once again proved that Russia is not a right place for study and we should not advice our friends to come here.

The first event is not only for that LETI student, it is happening everyday, every single minute in Saint Petersburg, Russia. How LETI and other university authority and Russian Visa Service behave with foreign students, it can not be described by this message.
